I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2020 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. As an undergraduate research assistant, I studied Niemann Pick Type C (NPC), a rare neurodegenerative, lysosomal storage disorder. I conducted live cell microscopy and immunofluorescence analysis to determine StARD9’s location in the cholesterol Hand-Off Model pathway. I then spent a year designing a bioinformatics pipeline to analyze whole transcriptome gene expression of the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum. I am thrilled to be joining Princeton’s QCB program; I hope to utilize computational methods to study genome regulation and the genetic architecture of non-Mendelian traits. I am particularly interested in characterizing the properties of gene regulatory networks as they relate to the etiology of disease. In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, and catching up with friends and family.
