I believe that mechanisms of life are hidden in high-dimensions and I dedicate myself to this journey of discovery. I received my B.S. and B.A. from Peking University, received my M.S. from the Department of Biostatistics at Harvard University. My research interests lie in developing statistical and computational methods to measure complex biological systems, especially focusing on high-dimensional statistics, combinatorial inference, and causal inference. My method development work finds its main applications in statistical genomics and molecular ecology, while I also have a strong interest in computational neuroscience. Prior to joining Princeton, I worked with Prof. Xihong Lin at Harvard to design the quality control algorithm and software for analyzing large-scale whole-genome sequencing data for NHGRI’s Genome Sequencing Program, and worked with Prof. Jingyi Jessica Li at UCLA to develop statistical approaches for prediction on in vivo transcription factors’ binding sites for the ENCODE-DREAM Challenge. Back to college, I designed a tripartite microbial-environment network method to reveal microbes’ strategies to influence the microbial community ecology. Outside my research, I enjoy playing the accordion, swimming, collecting Haiku, and creating Chinese and Japanese dishes.
