I graduated from UC Berkeley with a bioengineering major and an electrical engineering and computer science minor. As an undergraduate, I worked on research projects involving forest pathology, human genetics, hepatitis C, and fish ecology. During my year off, I became a software contractor for Mote Marine Lab's sturgeon aquaculture program, and I also built whisker stimulation devices for rodent somatosensory research. My other interests include fishing, reading, arms control, and wood-working.
