Bio/Description

I am interested in systems-level nutrition and the influence of genotype on nutrient responses. I am particularly interested in responses to geroprotective nutritional interventions like fasting, caloric restriction or amino acid dilution. I am using genomics and metabolic flux techniques to study systemic responses to dietary interventions and understand why most individuals respond beneficially, but some show detrimental responses.

Before coming to Princeton I completed my PhD with Dr. Jay Mitchell at Harvard where I studied the molecular basis of amino acid deprivation responses and profiled the impact of different amino acid compositions across dietary patterns. I then did a two-year postdoc at ETH Zurich where I continued studying molecular responses to dietary protein restriction.
