Bio/Description

Profile

My research takes an empirically driven theoretical approach to understanding how organization and function in living systems arises form the collective dynamics of their constituent parts. I am focusing on two systems: In cortical development, I study how neurons grow and develop into networks capable of forming representations of the sensory world; in fruit fly embryos, I study how cellular forces are coordinated across a tissue to achieve morphogenesis.
