I became involved in bioinformatics at the beginning of my undergraduate studies at UCLA as an exciting application of computational methods - but quickly learned the field is much deeper. Researching in the Engelhardt lab, I have been investigating the genetic architecture of traits through the lenses of statistical and quantitative genetics, with particular interest in the genetic basis of complex disease. My goal is to fundamentally change the manner in which association studies are conducted and the assumptions that pertain to such studies.
