Amanda A. Amodeo Position Faculty, Dartmouth Website Research lab Email [email protected] Bio/Description Profile Dr. Amodeo is interested in cellular decision making during embryonic development. In particular the lab is focused on how cells measure their developmental stage in order to coordinate cellular proliferation with transcriptional activation and other regulatory changes at the mid-blastula transition (MBT) in the fruit fly Drosophila. Work by Dr. Amodeo and colleges has demonstrated that histone levels play a major role in regulating the timing of the MBT in frogs, and we therefore seek to understand the role that histones play during the events of the Drosophila MBT. More broadly, we aim to understand how chromatin states influence transcriptional competency and developmental decision-making throughout early development. Google Scholar Alumni Past Fellows
