Written by Catherine Zandonella, Office of the Dean for Research March 5, 2021 A new study explores how a species of bacteria work collectively to form fruiting bodies, spongy mushroom-like growths that promote survival. Researchers led by professors Joshua Shaevitz (Physics/LSI) and Ned Wingreen (MolBio/LSI) have figured out the physics behind how these organisms build the structures layer by layer. The study was published in Nature Physics. Source Read full story Related People Joshua Shaevitz Ned S. Wingreen
