Abstract: I will explain recent results which show that allosteric conformational ensembles can implement any form of information integration that is achievable without energy expenditure. I will then discuss to what extent this mechanism can account for the integration that occurs during eukaryotic gene regulation, in which many small packet of information are integrated from across the genome to decide how to express a gene.
