Principal Investigator, Calico Life Sciences
Scott received his PhD as an NSF Fellow from QCB in 2013 with David Botstein. His thesis focused on developing and applying synthetic tools to dissect combinatorial gene regulatory networks. Following a postdoc at Amyris in automated strain engineering, he moved to Frances Arnold’s lab at Caltech to work on engineering proteins for optogenetics. At Caltech, Scott was an LSRF Fellow sponsored by the Shurl and Kay Curci Foundation. In 2014, Scott joined Calico Life Sciences, a Google-backed life extension company based in South San Francisco.
